The place has charm and character, but needs a ton of updating and restoration. New owners are women and I salute them for taking on the challenge of rejuvenating this historical gem. My room was super comfy, clean and beautifully decorated. Grounds are lovely but need attention. Location is basically on the middle of nowhere, as Ellerbe is a tiny little town. But surrounding rural countryside is worth exploring.

Thanks Jessie and Josh for your fantastic hospitality. Our stay was beautiful, peaceful and too short. The rooms were lovely and clean. The continental breakfast was perfect. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful country getaway, look no farther than Ellerbe Springs. We admire the hard work of the owners. They appear to be working very hard on the restoration of the property. As business owners ourselves we understand how much work taking care of a property involves. Thanks again

This Southern Bed and Breakfast was such a pleasant secluded surprise. The owner was lovely and made everything about my stay so easy. The building is very historic and old. But the rooms are newer and immaculate. The rooms are so beautifully decorated with giant old windows that look out on a pastoral scene. A family of sweet cats live outdoors for you to pet on the wrap-around porch, but inside no cats or cat hair. I have allergies but they were not triggered at all while I was there because it is mostly wood floors. My bed was extra comfortable and luxurious. Updated bathroom with a great hot shower. Many places to read a good book or play a board game or cards...there is even a pool table. I felt like I had escaped into another world that had an amazing story of its own. It was interesting and peaceful. The Inn with its pastoral grounds and spring are nowhere near the camp but I understand you can go with your RV too. They have a restaurant and tennis courts in the works which I can't wait to try on my next visit. Continental Breakfast and Netflix included!

My stay at the Ellerbe Inn was incredibly awesome! The owners live on sight and take excellent care of the property and guests. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. One thing I particularly enjoyed was that my bathroom had a full-size bathtub to soak in, something many places no longer have. The breakfast had cold cereal, hot cereal, muffins, toast, coffee, juice, fresh fruit, and milk. I tasted everything, and each item was fresh and very tasty. The WiFi is strong, and the tv has plenty to watch—unlike many other hotels and inns I have visited. The property has walking paths that I enjoyed very much also. Nearby there are several museums and tourist attractions. I will stay at the Ellerbe Inn every time I visit NC!

Very much enjoyed my overnight stay here. I checked in after midnight and the lady was so sweet, very neat historic old rooming house is what it looked like to me. Our room was very inviting for a great night's sleep. Didn't want to get up the next morning, but got up and went down stairs to breakfast. She had coffee and juice and cereal and breads. It's off the beaten path, but we'll worth it for a peaceful night's sleep

If you are in the area -- or even if you have to drive a little bit out of the way to get there -- treat yourself and book a room at Ellerbe Springs Resort! We stayed at Ellerbe overnight en route to our 38th wedding anniversary destination. But we were tempted to stay at Ellerbe the entire week. What a treat! Even when we arrived at the sleepy hour of 3:30am, the owner greeted and welcomed us with warm hospitality. The Inn is simultaneously quaint and majestic, is clean and organized, and is full of charm. The Victorian era decor reflects the rich and storied history of the 45-acre property. We enjoyed a casual morning stroll around the property. We walked by the gazebo-covered Ellerbe natural spring to the pond which boasts one of the very rare, "Pool Within A Pond" structures. (The swimming pool is not usable at this time but is to be renovated eventually.) There are trails, a fishing pond, a short- and long-stay campground with RV accommodations, and a family-ran farm with chickens, ducks, and goats. Our breakfast was cooked by one of the family members and included hand-diced home fries, farm fresh eggs, and a hearty portion of bacon! Cereals, juices, and an assortment of coffees were available, too. Skip the traditional, hum-drum, roadside hotel and stay at a historic, home-spun, secluded Bed & Breakfast with a mission to capture and restore a slice of nostalgic America! We travel from Columbus, Ohio to the South Carolina coast once or twice each year. This is now our #1 midway stop for rest and quiet restoration.

This place is a hidden treasure. I really enjoyed the multiple walking trails and being able to fish in the catch and release lake. The room was beautifully decorated and took me back in time, while still offering modern amenities like the tv and mini fridge. The owners and staff were so kind and attentive. They are working on restoring the inn and tennis courts. As an avid tennis player I can’t wait to come back and enjoy tennis and pickle ball too! Whether you’re coming to vacation or just passing through you can’t find anywhere more peaceful or safe to rest your head and get out into nature. Will be coming back again soon!

We stayed at the campground. It was nice and quiet with full hookup, fire pits, and tables. The campground had good flow, I have a 41’ fifth wheel and I was able to maneuver with ease plus majority of the spots are pull thru. The owners are onsite and very nice.
